Gritty Income Tax fight back to earn a 2-2 DRAW against RBI

Income tax vs RBI

Gritty Income Tax fights back to earn a 2-2 DRAW against RBI.

Mumbai Football Arena: Income Tax makes a comeback from 2-0 down to earn a vital point against the newly promoted side Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), Super Division held at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri on Friday 14, October 2016.

First Division Champions from the last season, Reserve Bank of India started strongly of the two sides as they were able to take a 2-0 lead within the first 40 minutes of the first half. RBI Number 11 Abhishek Ambekar netted a brace. The first goal being scored in the 16th minute before Ambekar doubled the lead in the 34th minute. RBI went into the halftime with two goals.

Knowing how the recent games have turned out at the Mumbai Football Arena anything could be possible in the second half as even a two goal half wasn’t enough to secure all the three points. And that is what proved to be the story in the 2nd half with the Income Tax team coming back to level the scores. The comeback began 9 minutes into the second half when Ralston Miranda netted Income Tax’s first goal in the 54th minute and just when it looked like RBI could hold on,  Raj Trivedi netted the equaliser in the 88th minute snatching the win from Reserve Bank of India.

Both teams went for the winner at the same time preserving a point as the match ended in a 2-2 draw. The Income Tax team can take pride in the fact that they made a fight back from two goals down. While Reserve Bank of India was let down by their own complacency giving away a two goal lead.
