MDFA Super Division’s opening match ends in an equaliser

Kenkre vs Companeroes

September 13, Mumbai Football Arena: Just nearly a month ago Mumbai’s footballing pride, Andheri Sports Complex, also known as Mumbai Football Arena, witnessed the first ever International match after a long span of half a century, now is the venue for Super Division. On the opening day of MDFA’s Super Division (Kenkre Vs Companeroes) inaugurated by MDFA chairmen, Aditya Thackray.

Companeroes number 9, Sheldon Rego scored the first goal for Companeroes against Kenkre FC, in the 38th minute and hopefully will be remembered as the first goal scorer of MDFA on Mumbai Football Arena which was also followed by the first Yellow card for Companeroes by Dermot in the 42nd minute. With an interesting and engaging first half, the score remained in Companeroes favour 1-0 against Kenkre FC.

The second half witnessed Kenkre FC’s comeback with the right amount of team coordination and beautiful game and frequent opportunities created by Marc D’Souza. Kenkre fought hard to score the first goal in the 62nd minute, Alok Chauhan, and successfully established an equaliser. A very strong display of great team effort as well as quite a match for the first day of the Super Division league. The match ended with a score of Kenkre vs Companeroes 1-1.

The next match of Super Division on 14th October is to be held between Income Tax and the title winner of First Division of Season 2015-16, RBI (Reserve Bank of India).
