ISL 3: Last minute heartbreak for FC Goa as Pune city FC beat host 2-1

Last minute goal by substitute Ndoye earns FC Pune their first points of campaign while FC Goa sunk to their second consecutive defeat after Coelho cancelled Arata Izumi’s opener earlier.
FC Goa coach Zico, lined up a 4-4-2 formation with a diamond midfield while bringing back Reinaldo in place of unimpressive Richarlyson. For Pune, Habas formed a 3-5-3 formation with Gouramangi, Edurado and Ravanan in the defence, Marquee signing Sissoko manning the midfield while Tato and Zurdo in the attack.
Match started with the Goa looking for an early attacking swiftly through flanks, Mandar delivered a tempting cross in the 5th minute that was punched off by Pune custodian Edel bête, soon Joffre was brought down by sissoko as goa earned their first free kick in the attacking position. But Rafael Coelho’s strike was easily defended by the Pune wall.
In the 17th minute Jonatan went down inside the box through a cordoza challenge, but Pune’s appeal for a penalty was denied by the referee although there seemed to be some contact. However, In the 25th minute, Jonatan Luca shot from the edge of the box was tipped onto post by Kattimani but Arata, who was lurking nearby and onside, ran first to tap in the rebound as Pune took the lead.
Cordozo, who looked out of sorts with frequent fouls, was booked in the 28th minute for a high boot on Tato’s face.
However Goa came back in to the game quickly from Coelho’s goal. A horrendous slip from Gouramangi allowed Coelho to score the equaliser. Kattimani’s kick saw Joffre’s flick the ball to Coelho who got past Gourmangi with ease to slot it past an onrushing Edel.
Seconds before half time, Goa was denied of a penalty after Joffre’s corner went to Raju, whose header was handled by Edurado, as both teams went into the break at 1-1, with both denied a possible penalties.
Second half started with Goa more intent in looking for the winner but lack of patiende and Edel bête as the opponents guard denied them frequently as Reinaldo and Romeo both saw their shots stopped by Pune Custodian around by the 55th minute. In the 61th minute Pune found a chance go a begging, after Sissoko’s ball found Zurdo, whose dummy fooled Luio and kattimani but the weak left footer was cleared by the last defender, Raju at the Goal line.
In the 69th minute, Romeo’s cross from the right was acrobatically struck by Trindade only for an alert Edel bête to tip the ball over for corner. Another opportunity was wasted around the 80th minute, when Joffre’s Cross only needed a tap fromDumas but edel came to the rescue for Pune once again.
In the 90th minute, Pune took the lead when substitute Ndoye skipped past Lucio and took the shot from the edge of the box to the far corner as kattimani got stranded off his line. Five minutes of extra time yielded nothing as Zico’s side went down second time in a row much to the disappointment of the 19000 home fans.
FC Goa 1 (Coelho 33’) – 2 FC Pune City (Izumi 24’, Ndoye 90’)
