MDFA DIV I: Atlanta FC vs Madanpura SC Match report

Atlanta hand Madanpura 7-0 thrashing.
Atlanta’s goalkeeper was the most chilled out lad for the day as his team mates sweated it out to see off Madanpura boys in a 7-0 thrashing. Atlanta who could manage only 11 boys for the game had a challenge to see of the full 80 mins without any help from the bench, on the other hand Madanpura had the full quota of players all full of energy and raring to go. It was all Madanpura for the first 5 minutes of the half, doing all the hard work and making the moves as Atlanta were on energy conservation mode to survive the next 80 minutes. In the 5th minute Madanpura attack turned into horror when the Atlanta defence cleared the ball for striker Alex Fernandes who lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper from 30 yards out to take a surprise lead. Madanpura worked hard for an equaliser but the solid defensive pair of Jaybalan Nadar and Navneet Palav made sure nothing went past them. moments later Striker Riane D’souza missed a wonderful opportunity to double the lead via a one-on-one situation, at half time Atlanta went with a 1-0 lead.
Play resumed and Madanpura attacked with a purpose but the young side were not able to complete the attacks. 9 minutes into second half Alex fernandes doubled Atlanta lead and the Atlanta onslaught started. minutes later Riane D’souza made up for the chance he missed in the first half and slotted home the 3rd for Atlanta in the 51st minute. Atlanta looked far more composed in the second period as mid-fielder Prashant Anchan moved the ball well and crated attack whith Aruni Jha who left the Madanpura defence guessing. Riane slot home another in 54th minute in a well worked attack. In the 59th minute Alex Fernandes completed his Hattrick with a neat finish and soon Rianne D’souza completed his hattrick to give Atlanta a 6-0 lead. Atlanta would have really wanted a few subs on the bench, but they did not really care and went on to score the 7th in the 75th minute. The last five minutes Atlanta tried to add another but were happy with their 7-0 thrashing of a much decorated Madanpura side.
