Flash FC and Naaz United registers a hard-fought victory

On the eighth day of Colaba Sports League 2016 at Cooperage, Flash FC and Naaz United registered victories over Jyoti FC and Sanchita FC, respectively.
Flash FC 3-1 Jyoti FC
Sushant Jadhav scored a spectacular goal, straight from the corner to put Flash FC in front on the 12th minute itself. Few minutes later, an own goal by Ashish Pawaskar leveled the score at 1-1.
Flash FC who were playing attacking football tested Jyoti FC’s goalkeeper Kishan Sulegai at times, and finally managed to double their lead on the 27th minute from a splendid long range strike by marquee player Sagar Bedekar.
Jyoti FC’s defense stood watching the ball as it sailed past Kishan Sulegai. Flash FC went into the break with a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Flash FC’s Tejas Raut showed his fine defensive attributes to keep Jyoti FC’s attack at bay.
His brilliant game reading, aerial duels and excellent marking earned him with the player of the match award.
Flash FC scored their third and final goal in the 66th minute through Chitresh Tandel who lobbed his effort over a hapless Kishan Sulegai.
Naaz United 0-0 Sanchita (Naaz Utd wins 3-2 on penalties)
In a dull affair, Naaz United prevails against a wasteful Sanchita FC to register an important win. After a goalless match, Naaz United emerged 3-2 as winners in the penalty shootout.
Naaz United who was missing their Captain and star player Rashid Shaikh seemed toothless in front of the goal.
Sanchita’s Mikhail Tandel was sent off in the 11th minute itself after committing a foul just outside the box. But surprisingly, Sanchita FC had more geninune openings than Naaz United.
Marquee player’s Pratik Koli and Shravan Shetty had an off day after both the attackers missed number of good chances.
Sanchita’s Prathamesh Kasare and Roshan Jadhav had their penalties saved by Manish Shetty, which left Naaz’s Dheeraj Meher with a chance to win for his team.
Dheeraj comprehensively scored past Hitesh Pagdhare to register a memorable win for Naaz United.
Manish Shetty was named as the player of the match for his impressive saves.
