Flash F.C narrowly edges Shark F.C through Chitresh Tandel’s goal

In the second match of the day on Sunday evening, Flash F.C registered a narrow 1-0 win in a pulsating match against Shark F.C in Colaba Sports League 2016.

Chitresh Tandel scored on the  27th minute which proved to be the decisive goal of the match. Shark F.C had their fine share of opportunities but failed to capitalized when it mattered.

Shark F.C’s Captain Walter Liu came close to score early in the first-half when his looping header just went over the bar. Few minutes they got yet another chance when attacking midfielder Anil Pawar slipped a beautiful pass to Reshon Sam whose low shot was comprehensively saved by Sagar Pagdhare.

Just before the half an hour Flash F.C broke the deadlock when Chitresh Tandel, through on goal, took his time and slot past Gautam Kanojia to take a solitary lead.

Flash F.C’s defensive duo Piram Master and Tejas Raut both had a fine game at the back. Both the ball playing defenders kept Shark F.C’s attackers at bay and also produced some excellent aerial duals.

On the other end, Shark F.C’s midfielder Shaliesh Jadhav had an impressive game overall. His link-up play with Mrunal Tandel and Sagar Bedekar was one of few great ability of Shailesh. His fine display also earned him a man of the match award.

The best chance of the match came late in the second-half. Shark F.C’s Anil Pawar put a fantastic cross from the right flank which beat the goalkeeper somehow and with no defenders on the far post Substitute Noel Rodrigues’s poor header went across the goal. Had his header was on the target it would’ve been a sure goal.

It was the last genuine chance of the match as Flash F.C ran out as winner.
