Bombay Port Trust flat Bombay F.C. 3-0 in MDFA Division 1 group ‘D’ match.
On Tuesday afternoon 15th December ’15, Bombay Port Trust played Bombay F.C. at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel in the Mumbai District Football Association Division 1 Group ‘D’ match. The game had its moments, but largely disappointed from a scoring perspective, despite the full-time score-line of 3-0 in favor of Bombay Port Trust, particularly when one would consider the number of goal-scoring chances both the sides had throughout the game. Praptish N. gave Bombay Port Trust an early lead and a second-half brace from no.10 Kashif Ansari wrapped-up the game.
During the first-half of footballing action, Bombay Port Trust took the opportunity to take an early lead inside 10 minutes. No.9 Praptish N. scored in the 10th minute beating Krishna Iyer in goal for Bombay F.C. with a delightful finish into the left-corner; unmarked inside the 18-yard-box from a free-kick, the no.9 calmly controlled the ball and slotted the ball into the net.
Bombay Port Trust dominated the first-20 minutes of the first-half, and came nail-bitingly close to a second-goal. A fine effort from outside the box in the 18th minute from no.12 Savio Rodrigues of Bombay Port Trust was inches away from going into the left-corner until the goalkeeper stepped-up to put a strong-hand in-between to parry-away from danger. Bombay Port Trust, largely dominated the first-half imposing attacking pressure on Bombay F.C., but the side didn’t prove decisive enough to convert any further chances; ending the half-time on positive note.
Prior to the start of second-half, there was a minute’s silence for Bombay F.C.’s no.9 Aditya Bane’s late-brother Ashutosh Bane, who lost his life to cancer last-month.
The game kicked-off on the same pitch, and despite the fact that Bombay Port Trust dominated the proceedings, largely it was Bombay F.C. who enjoyed a better attacking spell in the second-half.
After some 25 minutes of goal-short action and a number of chances wasted, Bombay Port Trust doubled their goal-scoring tally in the 73rd minute to 2 through their no.10 Kashif Ansari, who finished off from a tight angle from the right-side into the bottom left corner after initial good work to get past his marker. Later, Bombay Port Trust’s no.10 Kashif Ansari hit the crossbar only to score himself again in the 75th to give his side a 3 goal lead in the last-minute.
Overall it was match which was kept for the taking, and Bombay Port Trust took their chances to take maximum points from an otherwise balanced encounter.
