Millat FC beat Soccer A-Z in a MDFA League 1st Division match played at St.Xavier’s ground, Parel on Wednesday 17th September 2014. Goals scored by Rizwan Lokhandwala & Shavir Afshari in the second half were enough to secure the Oshiwara side all 3 points
Millat FC all smiles after their victory
Although Millat FC had a quite a shaky start, as Soccer A-Z kept asking questions of the Millat defense with some very good efforts on goal but all thanks to their keeper ‘Anas’ who kept them in the game with two brilliant saves. The first one being a superb double save in a goal melly after the ball wasn’t cleared from a corner kick and the second, a leap to the left to keep out a Soccer A-Z free kick from outside the box
In the sencond half Millat FC got themselves together with Farhan Butt guarding the defense & Farman Khan doing a good job by holding their midfield. The Soccer A-Z resistance was then broken with 2 goals from Rizwan Lokhandwala & Shavir Afshari.
Earlier there were two 2nd division matches which were played and both ended in a draw,
1st match – Gray Athletic drew with Joshua generation [1 (Vishal Shelar)- 1 (Kandaswamy Konar)].
2nd match – Classic FC drew with Athens XI [1 (Lionel Mascarenhas)- 1 (Rohit Thakur )]
