Dominant Union Bank Of India crushed Sellebrity FC

Union Bank Of India (UBI) thrashed Sellebrity FC 4-1 in the 109th Edition of RCF Nadkarni Football Cup Tournament to book their place in the next round at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) Sports Complex on Sunday noon.

Shanon Pereira, Shravan Shetty, Daniel Muthu and Pratik Koli all got their names on the scoresheet as the Bankers marches into the Quarter-Finals.

UBI started off brightly but somehow failed infront of the goal as they kept wasting numbers of chances. Although they got a deserving goal on the 33rd minute.

Shanon Pereira fires them into the lead with a powerful drive, making it 1-0 in favor of UBI.

UBI could have went into the break with a two goal lead, Shanon who opened the scoring launched a right footed shot which Sellebrity FC’s goalkeeper Suraj Jaiswal managed to save it with ease. Three minutes into the second-half, UBI increased their lead by two goals. Courtesy to Shravan Shetty’s goal.

The forward brilliantly flicked his effort into the right bottom corner to comfortably take the control of the match. Moments later, UBI’s Shanon could have got his brace but his left footed shot was brilliantly saved by Suraj Jaiswal.

UBI completely dominated the rest of the match. Two quick goals put the game for Sellebrity FC beyond any reach. On 66th minute, Daniel Muthu perfectly headed in from Shanon Pereira’s fantastic cross to make it 3-0. Two minutes later, Pratik Koli from a delightful ball from Shravan Shetty made it 4-0 as UBI kept getting the better of Sellebrity’s defense.

Sellebrity FC pulled one back through Oriora’s strike on the 80th minute which proved nothing more than a consolation goal.

With this victory Union Bank Of India qualifies for the next round where they will be meeting either Mumbai FC or Mumbai Warriors.
