Late Drama as PIFA Sports FC Clinch 3-2 Win Over Iron Born FC
PIFA Sports FC took on Iron Born FC in an entertaining Mumbai Premier League clash that delivered goals, intensity, and late drama. Both sides showed attacking intent from the start, setting up a competitive encounter.
PIFA began brightly and controlled possession in the opening exchanges. Their persistence paid off in the 29th minute when Ritesh found the breakthrough, finishing calmly to give PIFA Sports FC a deserved 1-0 lead.
Iron Born FC responded with resilience and looked dangerous on the counter. Their efforts were rewarded just before the half-time whistle when Prasad struck in stoppage time (45+1’) to level the score and send both teams into the break at 1-1.
The second half saw the tempo increase as both sides pushed for control. PIFA regained their advantage in the 68th minute through Palash, who capitalised on a well-worked move to restore the lead.
Iron Born refused to back down and stayed in the contest, with Mehroy finding the back of the net in the 59th minute to keep the pressure firmly on PIFA and ensure it remained a tight battle.
With the game hanging in the balance, PIFA showed composure in the closing stages. In the 80th minute, Shubham stepped up to score what proved to be the decisive goal, sealing a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
A crucial win for PIFA Sports FC as they secure all three points, while Iron Born FC will take positives from a spirited performance despite falling just short at full-time.
