First-Half Brilliance Helps Mumbay FC Overcome CFCI
In the match between Mumbay FC and CFCI in where both play their sixth match in the Mumbai Premier League and Mumbay FC would be eyeing that second spot as a win here would take them second on the table just below table toppers MYJ and CFCI playing to get their third win of the season.
Mumbay FC looked sharp in the first half of the game getting the ball from the centre of the pitch to either side of the wings and whipping crosses in to the CFCI box making it difficult for the CFCI defence to keep up to them. In the 38th minute Rahul went on to take the lead for Mumbay FC and not much time later Tousif got another one to double the lead for Mumbay FC to take the score to 2-0 at half time.
The second half gave a flying start to CFCI as they got one back just 1 minute into the second half through Aaraf and were on the verge of leveling things early. Mumbay FC stood strong at the back and defended well to protect this small lead. CFCI tried working out various tactics but it wasn’t enough to get the equaliser. Mumbay FC defended this lead all the way to secure all 3 points.
This win takes Mumbay FC to second position above Mumbai Ultras below MYJ having played equal number of games but with one loss while CFCI are denied of their third win of the season and makes it 4 losses in 6 games for them this season.
