Asif Strike Guides Inter Kashi to Narrow Win Over Mohammedan
Inter Kashi FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club at Kalyani Stadium, continuing their positive run in the Indian Super League 2025-26.
The visitors started brightly, putting early pressure on the Inter Kashi defence with a series of corners and attacking moves. Mahitosh Roy and Yash Chickro both came close, but Inter Kashi remained organised and weathered the early storm.
As the game settled, the hosts began to find their rhythm and broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through a well-executed move. Rohit Danu’s run down the left created space for Sandip Mandi, who delivered a precise cutback into the box. Mohammed Asif arrived at the right moment to finish calmly and give his side the lead.
Inter Kashi controlled possession for much of the first half, with Sergio Llamas and Wayne Vaz dictating play in midfield, though chances remained limited. Mohammedan continued to threaten in spells but struggled to break through a disciplined defensive setup.
The second half saw Mohammedan Sporting push forward with greater urgency. Lalremsanga led the charge with some dangerous runs, while Lalngaihsaka came agonisingly close when his header struck the crossbar in the 55th minute.
Despite the pressure, Inter Kashi held firm at the back, limiting clear opportunities and managing the game effectively in the closing stages. Mohammedan threw numbers forward late on, but their efforts lacked the final touch.
Inter Kashi remained composed until the final whistle, sealing a crucial three points and climbing further up the table, while Mohammedan Sporting continue their search for their first points of the campaign.
