The match, marked by two late-game goals from Pratham Ghatnur, saw Oranje secure their first win of the playoff round campaign, while CFCI’s search for points continues.

The early exchanges saw CFCI attempting to break the deadlock with long-range efforts, with Raul Almeida’s freekick narrowly missing the target. In the dying moments, Oranje capitalized on a defensive lapse from CFCI. Khatib intercepted a poor clearance, setting up Pratham Ghatnur for a clinical first-time finish on the turn, sealing a 2-0 victory and securing three valuable points for Oranje.

Mumbai City FC battles back to draw against ICL Mumbai

In another MPL encounter, Mumbai City FC showed some impressive resilience, staging a remarkable comeback from a 2-0 halftime deficit to draw 2-2 against ICL Mumbai. The result marks consecutive draws for Mumbai City FC in the playoff round.

ICL Mumbai asserted their dominance in the first half, taking the lead in the 18th minute. Rahul’s long ball found Zeeshan, who cuts it to his left foot beating two defenders before unleashing a brilliant curler from the edge of the box. Although Mumbai City FC goalkeeper Harsh Kadam produced a stunning save, Ronik was on hand to capitalize on the rebound, giving ICL the lead. As the game progressed ICL continued on the charge, just before halftime, ICL doubled their advantage when Akshay Pashilkar’s low cross was tapped in by Aayush Kumar making it 2-0.

Mumbai City FC emerged with renewed vigor in the second half, with substitute Eashan Sartape making an immediate impact. Subhajit Belel’s forward run and pass found Sartape, who unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box, reducing the deficit to 2-1. Mumbai City FC continued to apply pressure, and around the hour mark, they found the equalizer. After a header hit the side bar, and a Sartape strike hit the top bar again, Sayyam Desai headed the rebound in to make it 2-2.

Both teams pressed for a winning goal, but the match ended in a 2-2 draw, with both sides settling for a share of the points. The result leaves both teams with points earned, as the league continues to be exciting.
