Millat FC Continue Perfect Start with Hard-Fought Win Over Mumbai Soccer Prodigies

by Chandler D'silva December 18, 2025

Millat FC maintained their strong early momentum in the Mumbai Premier League 2025–26, securing a narrow but deserved 1–0 victory over Mumbai Soccer Prodigies (MSP). Coming into the match after a 3–0 win against Iron Born, Millat were confident, while the newly promoted MSP were making their first appearance in the MPL after stepping up from the Super Division.

The first half saw both teams show positive attacking intent, though clear-cut chances were limited. Millat FC looked the more threatening side, creating regular pressure and testing MSP goalkeeper Ayaan Someshwar, who was kept busy with several saves. MSP tried to respond by delivering crosses into the Millat penalty area, but the Millat goalkeeper handled them comfortably. Despite the steady tempo and attacking movement, the score remained 0–0 at halftime.

Millat FC came out with greater urgency in the second half, pushing higher up the pitch and increasing their attacking pressure. Their persistence paid off in the 52nd minute, when captain Keegan Pinto struck decisively, powering the ball past the MSP goalkeeper to give Millat a crucial lead.

Following the goal, MSP searched for an equaliser and increased their attacking efforts. However, Millat’s defence remained organised and disciplined, denying MSP any clear opportunities to get back into the game. Millat managed the closing stages well, protecting their lead and seeing out the match with composure.

The final whistle confirmed back-to-back wins for Millat FC, who also extended their run without conceding a goal. For Mumbai Soccer Prodigies, the match ended in defeat, but the newly promoted side showed resilience and promise in their opening MPL fixture.

Millat FC will look to build on this strong start, while MSP will aim to learn from the experience and bounce back in their upcoming matches.
