Mumbay FC set for Mumbai Premier League debut after star-studded inauguration

A month after its grand inauguration by Tiger Shroff, Mumbay FC is ready for its first Mumbai Premier League match. In an exclusive interview, Founder Ali Ahmed & Zoheb Khan share the club’s vision and future aspirations.
Mumbai’s football scene has welcomed a promising new addition with the official inauguration of Mumbay FC, a club poised to make its mark in Indian football. Launched in the heart of Mumbai and inaugurated by Bollywood star Tiger Shroff, Mumbay FC carries the hopes of its founder and entrepreneur Ali Ahmed. With over 2 decades of experience in industries such as real estate, health and fitness, media, and hospitality, Ahmed is a seasoned professional in the business world.
The club’s president, Zoheb Khan, is an ex-football player who has played and coached in major leagues in India and globally. With a deep passion for the sport, Ahmed and Khan aspire to bring Mumbay FC to the top of the league and compete in the Indian Super League (ISL).. The club is also mentored by former Indian international player Adil Khan, adding to its footballing credibility.
Building Football from the Grassroots
One of Mumbay FC’s primary missions is to nurture local talent. “We are already working with Mumbai players. The aim is to give them the chances and grow the sport here. It will be a work in progress,” said Zoheb. By focusing on homegrown talent, the club hopes to strengthen the football ecosystem in Mumbai and eventually in India, providing a platform for young players to showcase their skills.
Mumbay FC’s debut season is eagerly awaited, with Zoheb and his team setting high expectations. “We really want to come out as champions in whichever league we play. And gain promotion on merit.”
Youth Development and Celebrity Support
Zoheb is also keen on encouraging youth participation in football, with plans to create opportunities for young players in Mumbai. “I had a few big celebs like Tiger Shroff coming and helping me with the team’s promotion. Mumbai football getting recognised and our players getting limelight—what else can I ask for?”
He emphasized that aspiring footballers in Mumbai should focus on giving their best: “Just give it your best, you’ll not have to worry about the platform. We will provide that. And work harder than the rest, you’ll definitely achieve what you’re looking for.”
Preparing for the Mumbai Premier League
As Mumbay FC gears up for the Mumbai Premier League (MPL), the challenges of running a new club are apparent but the club is in high spirits. The chairman, Owner, is striving for excellence by getting the Coach all the way to the United Kingdom. “Team bonding with young and experienced players is the biggest challenge “
A Bright Future Ahead
With strong leadership, a clear vision, and a deep commitment to developing local talent, Mumbay FC is poised to become a key player in Mumbai’s football scene. Zoheb’s passion for the game combined with the business skills of Ali Ahmed’s & support of prominent figures like Tiger Shroff and Adil Khan, ensures that Mumbay FC’s journey is just beginning. The club’s future aspirations are bright, and they are determined to reach the pinnacle of Indian football in the years to come.
