Shastri Nagar – Offshots FC has proven to be the most well-rounded team in the league, excelling in both attack and defense. They have scored an impressive 34 goals while only conceding 2, setting a high standard for their competitors.
After winning the first round of the playoffs, SNFC – Offshots FC was drawn directly into the final three. Their strong combination of attacking prowess and solid defense will be key as they fight for the title.
“We’re not surprised to be here because we started this journey 1.5 years ago. We planned for this promotion that long ago and have been practicing as a team ever since. Twelve of our 25 players are from our academy, and this year, we have teams in all five divisions of Mumbai football,” said Harshad Tulaskar, Owner of Shastri Nagar – Offshots FC.
This long-term planning and consistency makes them a tough contender in the final stage.
South Mumbai United: The Underdogs
South Mumbai United has been the surprise team of the 1st Division, earning their spot in the top three through sheer determination and smart tactics. They’ve played more games than any other team this season, making them perhaps the most battle-tested side.
After a solid group stage, they caused an upset in the first round of playoffs by defeating one of the top-seeded team – Bombay Gymkhana (Undefeated until then), followed by a remarkable win over Regal Sports in the second round. Their star player, Rajveer Kesaria, has been crucial, scoring three key goals in the playoffs.
“We’re proud to have reached the final round, staying true to our philosophy of developing players. Now it’s time to embrace the pressure and go all out to win the trophy,” said Dr. Raunak Desai, Head Coach of South Mumbai United.
Don Bosco Academy: The Steadfast Contenders
Don Bosco Academy’s journey from the second division to becoming a strong force in the 1st Division is a story of grit and determination. They’ve won 7 out of 8 matches, showing they can score with ease, netting 20 goals, and hold firm in defense, conceding just 7.
“Congratulations to all teams that made it to the super division. It was tough reaching this final stage. We lost some early games, but my players fought hard, treating every match like a do-or-die situation. We’re ready for the championship, aiming for the title, and our boys will give their all. Best of luck to the other clubs,” said Nasir Sheikh, Don Bosco’s manager.
