A dominant performance from start to finish, with goals from Shanon Pereira, Himanshu Patil (2), and Vidipt Dua sealing the victory for MYJ-GMSC in today’s I League 3 Group C encounter.

MYJ GMSC delivered a commanding performance as they stormed to a 4-0 victory over Coramandel SC, showing a well-rounded display of attack and defence.

From the very first whistle, MYJ GMSC took control of the game, with the first clear opportunity falling to Himanshu Patil. After finding himself 1-on-1 with the Coramandel goalkeeper, the latter was quick to rush off his line, blocking the shot and preventing an early lead for MYJ-GMSC.

Moments later, Tanmay went on a brilliant run down the left flank, cutting the ball across the box to find Shamer. Unfortunately, his strike went just wide of the post. MYJ-GMSC kept up the pressure, and soon Jay found the back of the net, but it was ruled out due to an offside call.

However, in the 21st minute, MYJ GMSC’s relentless efforts paid off. A brilliant long ball from Keegan Pereira over the Coramandel defense found Shamer, who burst forward on the left flank before delivering an exquisite outside-the-boot pass across the defense. An onrushing Shannon Pereira finished with a simple tap-in to make it 1-0.

Shortly after, MYJ-GMSC almost doubled their lead as Himanshu’s strike from the edge of the box blazed over the bar. But it wasn’t long before MYJ GMSC were awarded a penalty for a foul in the box. Himanshu stepped up and calmly slotted it home, giving a well-deserved 2-0 lead before halftime.

The second half saw MYJ GMSC continue where they left off. Shamer, once again causing problems on the right flank, beat his marker and charged into the box, though his powerful shot narrowly missed the target.

MYJ-GMSC’s persistence paid off again when Vidipt Dua took advantage of a rebound and slotted it past the Coramandel goalkeeper to make it 3-0. The momentum stayed with the Lions as they sought to add more goals to their tally.

Around the hour mark, MYJ GMSC found the net again. Jay, under pressure from his marker, managed to maintain possession and played a precise pass to Himanshu Patil. With deft skill, Himanshu took a touch, turned inside, and blasted a fierce shot into the top-right corner, extending the lead to 4-0.

In pursuit of his hattrick, Himanshu was presented with a golden opportunity after capitalizing on a defensive error, but his shot went just wide of the target. Abhijit Taware also had a chance to add to the tally but his effort was saved by the Coramandel goalkeeper.

As the clock ticked down, Himanshu had one last chance to complete his hattrick, but once again, the Coramandel goalkeeper produced a diving save to deny him.
