CISF Protectors stun Mumbai City FC for their first win in IndianOilDurand Cup

The CISF Protectors pulled off a stunning victory Mumbai City FC, winning 2-0. This remarkable victory was sealed by an early goal from Santosh Kumar and a late strike from Sahil Kumar.

Mumbai City FC head coach Mohan Suresh Dass make five changes to his starting lineup. Meanwhile, CISF Protectors XI head coach Ajit Kumar made two changes, opting for a 3-5-2 formation.

CISF took an early lead in the third minute of the game. A beautifully executed cross from Bebeto on the left found Santosh Kumar unmarked at the far post, who finished perfectly to put CISF ahead. Mumbai City’s youngsters struggled to find their footing, with CISF dominating possession and creating several dangerous opportunities. Santosh Kumar had another chance to double the lead but missed his effort wide.

Despite showing some improvement towards the end of the first half, Mumbai City could not trouble the CISF goalkeeper, who had no saves to make in the entire half. On the other hand, CISF continued to create chances, keeping the Mumbai defense under constant pressure.

The second half began with CISF launching a series of attacks. Pawan Pratap missed a chance to score early on, but his effort went wide. Mumbai City tried to mount their attacks, but the CISF defense, showcasing great physicality, managed to thwart most attempts.

The match concluded with Sahil Kumar scoring in the final minute of injury time, sealing a clean and impressive performance by CISF. This victory marks CISF Protectors’ first win in the group stage, while Mumbai City FC faces a setback in their campaign.
