Mumbai Premier League: Iron Born clinches 2-0 victory over Sellebrity FC

In a gripping face-off at the Neville D’Souza Ground during the Mumbai Premier League showdown, Iron Born emerged triumphant with a decisive 2-0 win against Sellebrity FC

The match kicked off with fervor as Iron Born took the lead in the 10th minute. An impressive move from the right flank culminated in a clinical finish at the first post by Gautham Nair, setting the tone for Iron Born’s early dominance.

Sellebrity FC sought to equalize, with Prakash Sahani coming close with a powerful free-kick that narrowly missed the target. In the 43rd minute, Iron Born extended their lead with a well-timed attack. A long throw inside the box forced a defensive error, allowing Gautham Nair to strike the ball towards the second post. Despite the keeper’s getting a hand to it, the powerful shot found its way into the goal.

The second half witnessed heightened intensity as Sellebrity FC intensified their attacks. Ayub Queshi’s attempt was thwarted by an impeccable block from Joy Banerjee, denying Sellebrity FC a potential opening goal.

Sellebrity FC persisted with their offensive strategy, seizing an opportunity arising from a defensive lapse. Ayub managed to win possession, setting up Sameer Suthar for a shot, skillfully saved by Iron Born FC’s vigilant goalkeeper, Yadhu.

Iron Born also pressed forward, with Aryan’s free kick finding Shane, whose header narrowly missed the mark. Shane attempted another strike from distance, but it sailed over the crossbar.

Despite fervent efforts by Sellebrity FC in the latter half, Iron Born maintained their resilient defense, securing a commendable 2-0 lead till the final whistle.

FT: Sellebrity FC 0 – 2 Iron Born FC (Gautham Nair 10′, 43′)
