MFA Elite Corporate League: Air India soars to victory with dominant performance over Western Railway

In a thrilling encounter at the MFA Elite Corporate League, Air India picked up their second win of the season by defeating Western Railway 4-0.

The game showcased Air India’s dominance on the field as they outplayed their opponents with their sharp passing, great attacking prowess and solid defending.

The game started with Air India dictating the pace of the game and it didn’t take long for them to get on the scoreboard. In the 12th minute, Sunny Koli scored a brilliant goal, thanks to a superb move with 1-2 passes that saw him finish in style. The goal gave Air India the confidence boost they needed as they continued to attack Western Railway’s defense.

The pressure paid off in the 22nd minute when Harsh Utekar stepped up to take a penalty after a Western Railway defender was penalized for a foul inside the box. Utekar didn’t disappoint, as he converted the spot-kick with a well-placed shot that beat the goalkeeper.

Western Railway tried to mount a comeback in the second half, but Air India’s defense was too strong to break through. Instead, it was Air India who added to their tally in the 81st minute, when Vijith Shetty scored a stunning goal from outside the box. Shetty struck the ball with great power and accuracy, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

Air India continued to press forward, and they got their fourth goal in the 87th minute through Arfat Ansari. Air India forward’s first-time shot from a cross on the wings was saved by the Western Railway goalkeeper, but he couldn’t hold on to the ball, and the rebound fell kindly for Ansari, who made no mistake in slotting it into the net.

Overall, it was a great performance from Air India, and they will be looking to build on this win as the season progresses. Western Railway, on the other hand, will need to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
