Maharashtra squad for Santosh Trophy announced
The 22 – member squad for the Maharashtra team will travel to Kolhapur for Group IV of the Santosh Trophy
The All India Football Federation had earlier announced Kolhapur, Maharashtra, as the venue for the Group IV matches for the upcoming 76th Men’s National Football Championship for the Hero Santosh Trophy.
The squad was picked from the recently concluded WIFA Inter-District Competition with the majority of players being picked from Mumbai and Kolhapur. Although neither team won the competition, both sides are still considered to have the strongest players for the state squad.
Out of the 22 players, Nine players of the squad belong to Ambernath United Atlanta FC – a team full of standout players who have won two trophies so far and has not tasted a single defeat in Mumbai since last season.
