Joyson Chettiar’s four-Star Performance Powers Mumbai Ultras to 7-1 win over Colaba FC

In a high-scoring Mumbai Super League encounter, Mumbai Ultras left no room for doubt about their prowess on the field with a 7-1 annihilation of their opponent Colaba FC.

Right from the kickoff, the Ultras imposed their attacking style of play on the game, and it didn’t take long for their superiority to become evident.

The action began with an explosive volley from Dhawal Tandel just outside the box, a shot that would’ve found the back of the net if not for the acrobatics of Colaba’s goalkeeper. But the ensuing corner provided no reprieve for Colaba as Shahid Raju headed home the opening goal, breaking the deadlock.

Within moments, the Ultras launched another offensive, orchestrated by a scintillating run down the right flank. A perfectly timed cutback into the box set up Dhawal’s shot, which was initially parried by the keeper, only for Aditya Shah to capitalize on the rebound and fire home, doubling the lead for the Ultras.

Colaba made a valiant effort to find the net but was thwarted by Ultras’ stalwart defense. Their free-kicks went astray, shots were aimed straight at the keeper, and opportunities were squandered.

For a brief period, Colaba executed a high-press strategy that saw the Ultras pinned in their own half. However, the Ultras proved adept at countering the press, holding firm against their relentless opponents. They remained unyielding until Colaba’s high-intensity approach took a toll on their stamina.

As Colaba began to tire, the Ultras seized the initiative, dictating the flow of the game. A dangerous cross from the right was met by Deavvy Songara, whose header missed its mark. Moments later, Soham Mahadik’s precise cross found Joyson, who calmly slotted home, extending the lead to three goals.

Halftime arrived with a scoreline of Mumbai Ultras 3 – 0 Colaba FC.

The second half saw the Ultras continue their offensive onslaught. Joyson demonstrated his striking prowess by beating the offside trap and poking the ball past the keeper, only to be denied by the post.

In the 51st minute, substitute Shreyas Zele showed his class with a scorching shot that beat the Colaba keeper, increasing the Ultras’ lead to 4-0. Not content with their advantage, the Ultras kept pushing forward.

In the 58th minute, a pinpoint cross from the left side from skipper Aman Jangid found Joyson, who notched his second goal with a well-placed header, bringing the score to 5-0.

Such was the dominance of the Ultras’ attack that the defense saw a momentary lapse in concentration when the keeper misjudged a back pass from the middle as the ball slipped into his own net to give Colaba a consolation goal – the only way they looked like scoring

Despite the scoreline, Colaba’s keeper made several crucial saves to prevent the Ultras from running away with an even bigger victory. Shreyas had a chance to add to his tally, but a fine save denied him another goal.

In the 77th minute, Rohit Kamble’s well-judged through ball from the right wing sent Joyson through on goal, the latter completing his remarkable hat-trick. Just a minute later, Joyson demonstrated his brilliance once again. Winning the ball at the edge of the box, he exchanged quick passes with Shreyas, slicing through the Colaba defense before Shreyas’s cutback found Joyson again, who coolly slotted the ball into the net, securing his fourth goal of the game and sealing a 7-1 victory.

With this dominant display, the Mumbai Ultras sit at the top of the Group A table in the Mumbai Super League with 4 wins and 1 draw from 6 games. Their remarkable form and explosive style of play continue to captivate fans throughout the league.

Mumbai Ultras are making a statement in the Mumbai Super League, showing their intent to be serious title contenders this season.
