Hemang Jadhav shines with brace as Young Guns FA (Rhema) triumphs over Kenkre FC U19

A second-half brace from Hemang Jadhav helped Young Guns FA (Rhema) register a come-from-behind win against Kenkre FC

A second-half brace from Hemang Jadhav helped Young Guns FA (Rhema) register a come-from-behind win against Kenkre FC to move up to 2nd in the Mumbai Super League Group A table

In a clash of determination and skill, Kenkre FC faced off against Young Guns FA (Rhema) in a high-intensity Mumbai Super League encounter. The match was characterized by contrasting halves, with both teams striving for control.

The first half proved to be a battle of midfield prowess, as neither side could establish a clear advantage. Possession swayed in Young Guns’ favor, but the young runners from Kenkre were ever-present to intercept any wayward passes and loose balls. Surprisingly, neither team managed to convert any opportunities into shots on target, leaving both goalkeepers untested.

The game found its spark in the second half when Kenkre’s striker seized a golden opportunity, finding himself one-on-one with Young Guns (Rhema) keeper Shivam Joshi. In a swift counter-attack, he calmly slotted the ball into the net, breaking the deadlock.

Young Guns (Rhema) responded swiftly, capitalizing on their first and only corner of the match. Kartik Agashe delivered a pinpoint cross, and Hemang Jadhav’s towering header found the back of the net, equalizing the score.

As the match progressed, Hemang’s commanding presence in the midfield began causing issues for Kenkre. Young Guns launched an all-out assault in the final 10 minutes, reminiscent of their performance against Bombay Gymkhana.

The second goal arrived in dramatic fashion. The ball was swiftly switched wide to Amitesh Koderi on the right flank. A well-timed run by Hemang Jadhav and yet another pinpoint cross led to a powerful header. Despite the Kenkre keeper’s valiant effort, the ball found the net, securing a hard-fought victory for Young Guns FA (Rhema).

This crucial win propelled Young Guns FA (Rhema) to the second spot on the Group A table, ahead of Soccer Saga on goal difference, with 10 points from 4 games. It was a testament to their resilience and ability to turn the game around when it mattered most.

With this win and well placed in the table with games in hand in comparison to the teams around them, Young Guns FA (Rhema) proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Mumbai Super League.
