The match, held at the Neville D’Souza Ground, was a testament to IOT’s attacking prowess and exceptional teamwork as all 7 goals were scored by 7 different scorers for India on Track

First Half Flurry:

The match ignited from the very beginning as both teams showcased their intent to secure a win. In the 17th minute, IOT’s Nathan Braganza capitalized on a well-placed through ball, rounded the keeper, and calmly slotted the ball into the net, propelling IOT into the lead.

Moments later, a disallowed goal added drama to the game. Sabastine Almeida’s precise cross found Laitonjam Meetai, who chested the ball down and netted it. However, the goal was ruled offside, keeping the scoreline at 1-0.

Young Guns FC wasn’t without chances, and Arnav Krishnamoorthy came close to finding the net with a powerful shot that hit the side netting.

IOT continued to assert their dominance as Pujit Dubey unleashed a sensational long-range effort from outside the box, finding the bottom-left corner to double their lead in the 23rd minute.

The 27th minute witnessed Saurabh Nikam make a driving run on the right flank before delivering the ball to Joshua D’Souza, who didn’t miss the opportunity, extending IOT’s lead to 3-0.

While Young Guns FC had their moments, including a shot by Arnav that hit the crossbar, IOT proved relentless. Saurabh Nikam added another goal for IOT, slotting the ball past the keeper in the 41st minute.

Just before halftime, Laitonjam Meetai’s corner found Sabastine Almeida at the far post, who converted to make it 5-0. Minutes later Pujit Dubey then set up Laitonjam Meetai from the left, who found the net with clinical precision, bringing the halftime score to an astonishing 6-0 in favor of IOT.

Second Half Resilience:

The second half saw Young Guns FC strive to recover from their deficit, an early freekick saw Dharmendra’s header go wide. Their efforts eventually bore fruit in the 61st minute. Arnav made an impressive run, evaded the keeper, and found the net, breaking IOT’s clean sheet. The scoreline was then 6-1.

IOT remained an offensive threat, with Saurabh Nikam attempting a curling shot that the keeper thwarted. Mohammed Iqbal tried extending the lead but headed the ball over the bar.

In the final moments of the match, IOT showed no mercy as Anurag PC received a cross from the right and set up Nandhabalaji Shettiar in the center of the box, who found the net with a clean strike. The match concluded with IOT emerging victorious with a final score of 7-1.

This incredible performance solidified IOT’s undefeated streak in the Mumbai Super League, as they notched their fifth win out of six matches
