Aaren D’Silva Hat-Trick Propels Hyderabad FC to Dominant Victory in Durand Cup Clash
In a rain-soaked showdown, Hyderabad FC rode on Aaren D’silva hat-trick to outshine Tribhuvan Army FC with a resounding 3-0 triumph picking up their first win of the 2023-24 season
Aaren D’Silva’s masterful hat-trick (16’, 24’ & 69’) led Hyderabad FC to their inaugural victory in the Durand Cup campaign. The win propelled HFC to secure the second spot in Group E, accumulating four points from three matches.
The match witnessed Hyderabad FC deploying a lineup akin to their previous two fixtures. The deadlock was shattered when Aaren adeptly converted a sublime left-sided cross delivered by Ramhlunchhunga, who continued to exhibit his excellent form at the beginning of this season.
In a swift follow-up, just moments later, Mohammad Yasir orchestrated a precise assist to set up HFC’s second goal. Nim Dorjee, exhibiting an impeccable performance throughout the game, initiated the play with a steal higher up the pitch, and Aaren polished it off stylishly, lofting the ball over the goalkeeper to secure a 2-0 lead.
Gurmeet Singh was called into action a couple of times, while Chinglensana Konsham, Manoj Mohammad, and the young Laldanmawia ensured he was not subjected to overly strenuous tests.
The midfield duo of Mark Zothanpuia and Hitesh Sharma valiantly battled until the final whistle, consistently keeping Hyderabad FC in control of the game. In the 69th minute, Aaren sealed the victory by completing his hat-trick. Yasir’s cross-field delivery found Aaren in a favorable position, and his skillful cut-in and precise finish proved insurmountable for the Nepal-based opponent.
Notably, Goan striker Aaren D’Silva etched his name in history by becoming the first Indian to record a hat-trick for HFC and only the second player in the club’s annals to achieve a perfect hat-trick.
