WIFA Women’s Football League: Comfortable Wins For PIFA & Footie First

PIFA Sports and Footie First emerged victorious in Wednesday’s WIFA Women’s Football League (IWL Qualifier) ​​fixtures.

In the opening match of the day, PIFA Sports took on Kenkre FC. The first goal of the match came from PIFA Sports when their captain Deepika scored in just the 11th minute of the game. Kenkre tried hard to get back into the game after going down, but could not take advantage of the opportunities and the first half went in favor of PIFA Sports.

The same story continued in the second half as well. In the 71st minute, substitute Bhagyashree Dalvi doubled PIFA’s lead. The referee blew the final whistle and PIFA Sports started 2022 with a win.

In the second match, Mumbai-based Footie First faced off Pune’s Krida Prabhodhini. Captain Mamta Kumari scored for Footie First in just the 7th minute of the game. Footie First took a slim 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Footie First kept the pressure on and Pooja Morey scored in the 63rd minute. Anu Gupta scored in the 77th & 86th minute to make it 4-0. Krida Prabodhini’s captain Vaishnavi Pawar scored in the 90th minute of the game but it was too late for them to make a comeback.
