CBI thrash ESIC 8-0 to complete hattrick of wins

Central Bank of India ride on Kamran Ansari’s Hattrick and braces from Fahizal and Kaushik to hammer an 8-0 win over ESIC, to complete a third win on the trot.

The win takes the Central Bank of India to 12 points in five games, ten behind league leaders but with three games in hand meanwhile, ESIC’s search of their first win of the campaign continues.

The game began with CBI taking control early on in the game, in the 11th minute, a long ball into the ESIC box found Mustafa Shaikh who stuck his boot just in time to allow the ball to pop over an onrushing keeper before nestling into the net to make it 1-0.

In the 24th minute, a clinical strike from Kaushik Zadiwala doubled the lead before Fahizal’s expertly chipped ball over the keeper made it 3-0 in the span of two minutes. A few minutes before half time break, Kaushik’s ball into the middle found Kamran Ansari who beat his marker before taking a shot to the left corner of the post off his left foot, to make it 4-0.

In the second half, CBI continued their dominant form as in the 56th minute Brandon’s cross from the right flank was headed home by Kamran to make it 5-0. Around the hour mark, Fahizal headed home from edge of the box to make it sixth goal of the game, after receiving a long cross from the right-wing.

In the 75th minute, Substitute Nihar Jadhav showed quick feet with some neat dribble past a couple of players before taking a shot on goal. However, the ball thundered back from the post to fall on the path of Kamran who made no mistake with a clinical finish to complete his hattrick.

Late in the game, CBI continued their press forward on a crumbling ESIC defense and after a series of passing between CBI players, Kaushik Zadiwala unleashed a brilliant curler of shot that curved and dipped at the right time to nestle into the net as CBI completed an 8-0 thrashing of their opponent.

FT: Central Bank India (Mustafa 11, Kaushik 24’, 87’, Fahizal 25’, 62’, Kamran 40’, 56’, 75’) 8 – 0 ESIC
