MFA Women’s League – Kenkre register 8-0 win courtesy of Techi Akung five-star performances

A 5 goal burst from Techi Akung help Kenkre FC hammer Companeroes 8-0, meanwhile Soccer XI and PIFA ended their tough fight in a goalless draw whereas FC Mumbaikars and South Mumbai United played out a 1-1 draw.

Match Day 6 of MFA Women’s league was packed with some exciting clashes between group B teams, where Soccer XI faced PIFA, FC Mumbaikars locked horns with South Mumbai United and Kenkre FC clashed with Companeroes.

The Opening game of the day Soccer XI and in a goal-less draw. Both the teams tried their level best to score but the defense was tough at both ends. As both teams failed to break the deadlock teams had to share 1 point each.

FT: SOCCER XI 0-0 PIFA

In the 2nd game of the day, a fierce fight between FC Mumbaikars and South Mumbai United was in witness in which, the final whistle saw a 1-1 draw. Aishwarya Ubarhande conceded an own goal in the second minute of the game to put South Mumbai in an early lead. However, Sakshi Hiwale scored a goal in the 22 minutes to allow her team to get back to the game. No further goals were possible as both sides defended well as the game eventually ended in a 1-1 stalemate

FT: FC MUMBAIKARS 1-1 SOUTH MUMBAI UNITED

The Final clash between Kenkre FC and Companeroes saw goals showering from Kenkre FC. Nikita Jude opened the scoring early before Techi Akung kept the ball rolling as she scored five goals for Kenkre FC. Afreen Peerbhoy scored in the 65th minute of the game Before Nikita Jude added one in the 68 minutes to complete the rout. Companeroes had a field day as they chased around Kenkre FC attack eventually losing 8-0.
