In Elite Division encounter, Air India came from a goal down to register a commanding 5-1 win over Bank of India. Soccer XI win big in Super Division

The match began with Air India starting on the brighter side with few good attacking moves early on. However an impressive Sanjeev Verma between the stick denied the former champions any early inroads.

In the 38th minute, BOI took the lead when Troy Nunes headed home the opening goal off a cross from Shankar Thakur. Air India responded immediately with an equalizer after a Rosenberg cross from the right flank was met by Johnson D’silva who made no mistake in placing it into the net.

In the second half, Air India started out brightly once again and immediately took the lead when Sanchit latched on to a through ball from midfield before chipping the ball over an onrushing goalkeeper to make it 2-1. Few minutes later, Rosenberg doubled the lead with a curling effort from the edge of the box.

Later on in the game, Substitute Azza Noorani dribbled past the keeper to score the fourth Air India goal before Rishikesh added the final nail in to the game with the fifth goal. Deep in to the injury time, Rosenberg beat his marker to send a teasing ball back in which was swiftly tapped in to the goal bu Rishikesh to end the game 5-1.
