Persistence pays off, as I league comes calling for Bryce

Bryce Miranda

Mumbai lad Bryce Miranda has bagged an I league contract after impressive performance playing for Income tax in Mumbai Elite Division.

Goan giants Churchill Brothers have decided to sign in Bryce Miranda for their upcoming Hero I League 2020-21 season. The former Income Tax winger had been performing impressively in the Mumbai Leagues and had also previously earned a stint with FC Goa Developmental side.

The 21-year-old winger played an instrumental role for Income Tax‘s impressive 2019-20 Elite Division season, where the club reached the 2nd spot in the league table before the Covid Pandemic halted the final leg of the tournament.

In the nine games that were played, Bryce Miranda registered a total of 10 assists to top the assists chart aside from scoring 3 goals. His pinpoint crosses from the wings was one of the highlights of Income Tax’s gameplay, as the club ended up scoring the most number of goals in the season. Bryce’s good performance has finally paid off with the youngster bagging an I league contract from the Goan giants.

The pandemic had stopped the football activities in the city since mid-march, putting a big question mark on what next for city footballers. However, Bryce’s impressive performance didn’t go unnoticed. Early in November, Alex Ambrose, who is the Assistant coach of the India U17 girls team, called up Bryce to inform him about the trial opportunity at Churchill Brothers.

“I was excited and started preparing myself. My only aim was to do well and get selected. On 18th Nov after the training, Coach told me I have to go and sign a contract in the evening I was so happy that I’ll be a part of Churchill Brothers. I can’t express the feeling of being part of one of the greatest teams in the I-league.” Overwhelmed with emotions, Bryce further added on playing in I League, “It was always my dream to play in the Hero I-league since a very young age and finally it happened. My dream has come true.”

Talking about his aspirations at Churchill Brothers, Bryce is confident of his game and club challenging for the title, “I want to do my best with this team and give 200% in practice and in the matches. I have bonded well with the players from the time I was on trials and I feel very confident. I just want to perform well and will give everything and do anything to bring home the cup.”

Having spent his last few years playing in the Mumbai leagues, Bryce is indebted for this I league opportunity stating, ”Churchill Brothers and the whole management have kept faith in me and my ability now it is my chance to give my best and do well with Churchill.”

Bryce had done well at the Mumbai football circle and always looked set for stepping up a level and now that I league has come calling, Bryce is ready to brace up for the new challenges ahead.
