GM Sports Club produced a clinical display of attack and defence to rout ICL Payyade 5-0 while in other Elite Division match Incopme Tax outclass Bank of India 5-1

In what turned out to be a complete domination over their opponent, GM Sports Club thrashed ICL Payyade with a mammoth 5-0 margin in an Eltie Division encounter played out at Neville D’souza Ground Bandra. Jayraj opened the scoring around the half hour mark before Harsh Rall doubled the lead minutes before the break.

On restart, GM Sports once again came out all guns blazing and ICL Payyade defence completely crumbled under pressure conceding two goals in space of one minute as both Omkar Shinde and Sekhar came on score sheet. Midway through the 2nd half, Omkar complete his brace with another goal to complete the 5-0 rout for his side.

Meanwhile at cooperage, Income Tax brushed Bank of India Challenge with a big 5-1 victory. Income Tax started out on front foot when Linekar Machado’s fifth minute strike put them 1-0 up. The game shifted to end to end football with Income Tax comfortably in control. In the 40th minute, IT won a penalty which was duly converted by Mohammed Ishfaq with powerfully struck shot to the left of the goal keeper who despite guessing the direction right could not do enough to stop the ball from going in.

Midway through to the second half, BOI reduced the deficit when Rohit Pillai headed home from a free-kick situation. However, IT came back strong to squash any hopes of comeback with an immediate goal from Bryce Miranda. Tejas raut then headed the fourth from a corner before a late free-kick in injury time saw skipper Francisco Salin curl in a stupendous free-kick from just outside the box to make it 5-1.

Income Tax (Linekar Machado 5’, Mohammed Ishfaq 41’, Bryce Miranda 72’, Tejas Kumar Krishna 80’, Francisco Salin 90+3’) 5 – 1 Bank of India (Rohit Pillai 70’)
