The Ahmedabad based ARA FC, founded back in 2016, registered their first win of the season. Their star forward Syed Shoaib Ahmed registered a hat-trick and the other two goals were netted by Parminder Singh and their Portuguese forward Dieye Hamidou.
The Mumbai City FC Reserves side was an all Indian outfit comprising 9 U-22 players. Syed scored from an early penalty awarded to ARA at the 3rd minute of the match. He doubled the lead at the 19th minute. At the 36th minute, ARA scored their third goal through Dieye Hamidou’s effort.
The first half concluded seeing ARA lead by 3 goals to nil. The second half kicked off only for ARA FC to score two more goals. Syed completed his hat-trick at the 52nd minute and Parminder Singh put the final nail in the coffin at the 63rd minute. The final whistle by the referee concluded the match in favour of ARA FC romping to a massive victory.
On the other hand, a mini Kerala derby saw FC Kerala outclass Kerala Blasters (Reserves) by a 3 goal margin. Mumbai City FC Reserves are slated to play their upcoming game against FC Bengaluru United at the Cooperage Stadium, Mumbai on 2nd February 2020.
