A late strike from Deepak Patil ensured MS police walked away with a point against Central Bank of India while Super Division, Tarun SC hammer 8 past Spartans SA

In an engaging and an exciting encounter, Central Bank of India and Maharashtra State Police (MSP) shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw in an Elite Division match played out at the Cooperage ground on Wednesday.

After an cagey start where the bankers looked the better of the two sides, Maharashtra State Police took the lead against the run of play when in the 37th minute the referee judged CBI defender to have handled the ball inside the box Deepak Patil stepped up for the spot-kick and duly converted it to make it 1-0 for his side. Going a goal down, Central Bank outfit hit back immediately and soon restored parity from Alistair’s goal in a free-kick situation as both the teams went into the break tied 1-1.

Six minutes in to the 2nd half, Central Bank grabbed the lead after Gurang latched on to a through ball before placing it past an onrushing keeper. MS Police fought on looking for the equalizer and their patience were finally rewarded in the final quarter of the game, when a free-kick routine for MS Police ended with Deepak Patil finding the back of the net to make it 2-2.
