WIFA Women’s Football League: PIFA outperforms all opponents to reach Super Six Round
PIFA maintain their phenomenal form and make their way to the Super Six round after thrashing team Pacangan on their final outing.
In their group stage fixtures, PIFA has bagged all the points playing 6 games, scoring a total of 38 goals and conceding none. Their dominance on paper displays how clinical they have been throughout their campaign so far. It also showcases how robust the entire outfit seems ahead of the final round of the IWL-Preliminary Round in Maharashtra.
PIFA played their final Group-B game against Pacangan Football Club where they whipped 10 goals past them. PIFA’s foreign recruit, Leah Rodrigues, outplayed the opponents and scored a hat-trick. Pratima Behera, Nikita Jadhav and Sibani Sharma scored in the first half giving PIFA a commendable 5 goal lead.
The second half saw PIFA maintaining their momentum and leave Pacangan clueless. Pacangan succumbed to compete and went on to concede more in the final 45 minutes of the game. Pratima Mukhia scored a brace and Tripati Deep netted a goal to conclude the match in PIFA’s favour. The scoreline read 10 goals to none after the final blow of the whistle.
With 18 points on their account, PIFA Sports Club is the only team from the three groups to win all their matches to qualify for the final round. The Super-Six Round will commence from the 14th of December where PIFA Sports Club will lock horns against the best 5 teams in Maharashtra.
