WIFA Women’s Football League: FC Kolhapur City win big

FC Kolhapur City played out a massive win against an inexperienced Football Leaders Academy.

Nothing fell in place for Football Leaders Academy, who played their first match of the IWL Preliminary Round today. Consisting mostly of youngsters, Football Leaders Academy failed to resist the pressure imposed by FC Kolhapur City. FC Kolhapur City had prior experience of playing 2 matches in the WIFA Women’s Football League. The game got killed within the first half, as 18 goals were registered by the sturdy Kolhapur outfit. Mamta and Jyoti ran the show in the initial 45 minutes netting 5 and 4 goals respectively. The entire morale of Football Leaders Academy was crushed as they conceded unexpected numbers.

However, FLA had a considerable second half scoring a consolation goal through Dakshata Panwal’s effort at the dying minute. FC Kolhapur City further added 4 goals to romp to a huge victory. Team Kolhapur dominate Group C proceedings as they are yet to drop points after playing 3 matches. The naive Football Leader’s Academy opens its campaign with a disappointing loss.
