U-Mumba and Salsette picks up all three points

25th February 2019, Mumbai: On Sunday, U-Mumba played Sellebrity, whereas, Salsette encountered CFCI on Monday morning in the MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) at Cooperage Stadium. U-Mumba thrashed Sellebrity, all thanks to Karan Kapoor’s hat-trick while Salsette overcame CFCI 1-0 to pick up all three points.

U-Mumba (Digvijay Yadav 25′, Henderson Dias 37′ & 60′ and Karan Kapoor 49′, 58′ & 67′) 6-0 Sellebrity

U-Mumba further strengthened their position at the top of Private Group standing with a ruthless 6-0 win against Sellebrity. U-Mumba has been unbeaten this season and is most importantly looking in firm control to top the group.

It was former Mumbai FC’s youth player Digvijay Yadav who opened the scoring in the 25th minute. With that goal, Sellebrity started to crumble. Henderson Dias added another before the break to solidify a two-goal lead.

In the second-half, Striker Karan Kapoor, who has been outstanding this season so far, completed an eighteen-minute hat-trick to blow away Sellebrity with ease. His positioning and awareness around the box are second to none this season. Adding to it, his finishing and composure have been top-notch as well. A great win for U-Mumba as they continue to move forward.

Salsette (Amit Kantha 70′) 1-0 CFCI 

On Monday morning, Salsette faced CFCI in what turned out to be a closely-contested game at the Cooperage Stadium. Both the sides displayed a disciplined game but couldn’t manage to find the back of the net even though several opportunities fell into their paths.

It was in the 70th minute when Amit Kantha finally managed to break the deadlock with a wonderful finish. Salsette got what they needed. They stood firm with their one-goal lead and secured a hard-fought win against a tricky CFCI side.
