Super Division: Sawant special rescues Sunday Boys!

Mumbai, February 27, 2019: Prashant and Prathamesh Sawant did a rescue act as Sunday Boys completed a 3-2 comeback win against Desperados at the Neville D’Souza Ground on Wednesday.

Desperados who had created pressure in the first ten minutes looked good value to score. Sunday Boys defended valiantly and kept the game alive! Sumit Shah’s open goal miss haunted Desperados as Prashant Sawant smashed in a fine goal in the 21st minute. Sucker punch…literally!

Marcel Arora and Shah scored in the 30th and 48th minutes respectively for Desperados to make it 2-1. The game had burst into life! Tanmay Talgaokar’s pace was a handful for Sunday Boys! Desperados was clueless against a Sawant special which was to follow in the second half!

Prathamesh played ideal foil to Prashant and slammed home in the 46th minute to make it 2-2. Sunday Boys was back in with a shout! The comeback was complete as Prashant hit home from outside the area in the 48th minute. 3-2 and the goal had given Sunday Boys a huge morale booster!

Desperados attacked relentlessly and Sunday Boys cleared off numerous goal scoring opportunities! A mix of clinical finishing and rock solid defending allowed Sunday Boys to grab the crucial three points.

Not to forget that the Sawant’s had played heroes for the umpteenth time!
