Super Division: Double trouble as Chheda Nagar win against Sunday Boys

Mumbai, February 5, 2019: Chheda Nagar Prodigies did a Jekyll and Hyde as they downed Sunday Boys 2-0 at the Neville D’Souza Ground on Tuesday.

Gaurav Adhikari and Sahil Mhatre scored in the 40th and 54th minutes respectively as Chheda Nagar broke out of jail.

The two Sawant’s, Prathamesh and Prashant, were a handful for Chheda Nagar. The duo created chances by the dozen as Sunday Boys piled on the pressure in the first half.

Simarpreet Singh was the player of the game for Chheda Nagar. He was a dynamo as he created numerous opportunities for their attackers. His speed caused havoc in the opposition ranks!

The first half was a goalless affair as Sunday Boys dominated proceedings.

The second was a completely different story as Chheda Nagar did a U-turn and scored twice within 14 minutes!

Singh’s shot hit the hand of a defender inside the box and resulted in a penalty. Adhikari coolly dispatched the spot-kick to the bottom-right and made it 1-0!

Mhatre timed his run to perfection and volleyed it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Whatever Chheda Nagar’s coach said at half time had worked wonders!

It was one-way traffic as Chheda Nagar piled on the pressure in search of a third goal.

As Adhikari and Subhav Shrivastav came close to scoring again…Sunday Boys held on by the skin of their teeth!
