An injury time strike from Pramod Galave earns Mumbai Customs all 3 points while in another Elite Division encounter a spirited Kenkre FC came from two goals down to snatch a late point.

In the first Elite division encounter of the day, Air India faced off against defending champions Mumbai Customs at Cooperage stadium, Mumbai.

After an even first half where both sides had their chances it was Mumbai Customs who broke the deadlock when in the 52nd minute, a poor back pass from Air India defender was quickly capitalized upon by an alert Custom’s Marc, who made no mistake in beat Air India Goalie Paul to send his side on the lead. However, the joy was short lived as Air India made an immediate comeback.

Satish’s cross from the right flank in to the box found Air India Johnson tussling for the ball with Customs Shrikant with the former being brought down. As the referee deemed it as the Penalty, Air India’s Sanchit Singh made no mistake in converting the spot-kick as the scores were brought level.

As the game seemed headed for a draw, in the final minutes of the injury time, Customs won the ball in the midfield and initiated a counter-attack with Pramod Galave dribbling past his marker before unleashing a killer blow as the game ended 2-1 in favor of defending champions.

In the Private group of Elite Division encounter, Kenkre faced off against Millat FC with the latter showcasing excellent second display to snatch a point from the game.

Despite Kenkre’s dominance in possession, Millat FC worked well on counters scoring two goals in the first half. Brijal Possa gave Millat the lead in the 11th minute before Waman Sawant doubled the advantage minutes after the half hour mark.
