MDFA 3rd Division: KSA Ambitious Academy overcomes two goal deficits to win 3-2
In a riveting encounter, a late fight back from KSA Ambitious FA, which saw them score 3 goals in the last 11 minutes, saw the club come from behind to win 3-2 against Madanpura FA
Nimish Dugad continued his goal scoring form as he led the fight-back with a brace while Shahid Qureshi scored a late winner. For Madanpura FA, Huzaifa Ansari and Bilal Maknojia scored in the first half.
The game began with Madanpura taking an early lead when Huzafir Ansari converted a chance in the 5th minute of the game. Ambitious FA tried coming back in to the game when frequently failed to make an impact as Madanpura won the possession battle in the field. Things turned from bad to worse when near the end of first half, Madanpura doubled the lead through Bilal Maknojia’s goal. Both sides entered the break with score at 0-2 in favour of Madanpura.
In the 2nd half, Ambitious coach Vijith Shetty made a tactical change of bringing in Sahil and Mihir to centre of the field to take control of the midfield. The change worked as Ambitious began controlling the proceedings. With 11 minutes to go, Nimish Dugad, who had a fairly quite afternoon until then, converted a pass from Sahil to goal and reduce the deficit to one goal. A minute later, a cross from left plank by Vivek Yadav was duly converted once again by Nimish to level the scores.
The two goals boosted the morale of Amitious players as they continued their attack in search of winner. With five minutes to go, Nimish almost completed his hat-trick as his shot from a tight angle was brilliantly saved by the keeper. The following corner from Maurish Koli was once again well connected by Nimish but the ball was handled by Madanpura defender inside the box as referee pointed to the spot.
Shahid Qureshi took over the spot kick duty and smartly beat the keeper to take the lead. Ambitious FA were then able to see off rest of the game as the match ended 3-2.
