KSA and GM continues their winning run

GM KSA

16th March 2019, Mumbai: On Saturday, KSA played Sellebrity while GM encountered Millat FC in the MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) at the Neville D’Souza Ground in Bandra. KSA thumped Sellebrity 10-0, whereas, GM scored a late winner to seal a 2-1 win against Millat FC to pick up all three points.

KSA (Nascimento x 2, Sunny Thakur x 2, Steven Dias x 2, Charnel, Aashish, Tushar Poojary, & Zaid) 10-0 Sellebrity

KSA recorded the joint-biggest win of the season when they hammered Sellebrity 10-0 on Saturday to continue their fine run of form in the Elite Division. Earlier this year, Millat FC had beaten RSF 10-0 as well which was then the biggest win of the season.

Right from the first whistle, KSA went all guns blazing against a shaky Sellebrity side. Nascimento Santiago scored twice within the first ten minutes to put KSA in a commendable position.

The goals came pouring in as Charnel Almeida and Steven Dias also getting on the scoresheet. Attacker Sunny Thakur and Santiago had an impressive game as the duo pulled the strings together to inflict serious problems on their counterparts.

After the break, KSA added six more goals to continue their aggressive display. Aashish Lalge, Steven Dias, Tushar Poojary, Zaid Ansari, and Sunny Thakur, all chipped in goals to complete a resounding 10-0 win.

Millat FC (Bhushan Saidane) 1-2 GM (Surajit Daloi & Nihar Jadhav)

In the other game, which was nothing short of a thrilling contest between two of the most renowned teams in Mumbai, GM had to rely on a late goal to snatch all three points from Millat FC.

Both the sides started well and took their time to settle into the game but it was GM who broke the deadlock in the 37th minute. Suraji Daloi scored his first goal of the season which gave GM a cushion lead at the break.

Millat FC bounced back in the second-half after Bhushan Saidane scored from a rebound to make things even. Both the outfits came close to take the lead on several occasions but it was GM’s Nihar Jadhav who found the back of the net in the third minute of the stoppage time to seal an important win in the quest to qualify for the next phase of Elite Division.
