Dsouza FA crowned MDFA 3rd Division Champions

Mumbai-October 5: Played at Cooperage ground, Churchgate, both teams displayed exceptional resilience to stretch the game to the penalties, where Dsouza FA managed to edge Jeevies FC to lift the title.

In an end to end encounter, Dsouza FA started out brightly with some good movements on the ball; however some good defensive work from Jeevies ensured the score line remained at nought. In the second half story continued as Dsouza continued to probe in attack only to fail at the final third. Meanwhile Jeevies FC where comfortable in their defensive setup and looked to occasional work on the counter.

However at the end of regulation time neither side managed to break the deadlock extending the game in to Penalty Shootout. Suraj converted his first attempt for Dsouza while Vijay Chavan followed it up with Jeevies FC. In the 2nd and 3rd attempt, Aaron Rebello and Owais Khan converted their spot-kick to goals while Goalkeeper Akash Nair had two saves to his name as Dsouza emerged victorious to lift the 3rd Division title.
