Young Boys sinks Chhedanagar 5-1
3rd March 2018, Mumbai: Young Boys romped to their third win of the campaign after registering a thumping 5-1 win over Pressfit Chhedanagar Soccer in Group A of MDFA Super Division clash at Mumbai Football Arena (Andheri) on Saturday evening. The win has given Young Boys a solitary one point lead over second place side FSI – Seaview.
On the other hand, Chhedanagar suffered their second loss of the season. They have won twice and lost twice out of the four games played where they are currently lying fifth in the Group A table. Chhedanagar were left to rue missed chances after a disappointing time in front of goal.
Chhedanagar had a bright start though. In the 7th minute, Shavez Surve opened the scoring with a well-timed finish past Sarfaraz Ansari, Young Boys’ Goalkeeper. But Young Boys responded quite brilliantly after conceding so early. Shahzad levelled the score in the 17th minute with a wonderful goal before Abdullah made it 2-1 in favour of Young Boys in the 31st minute.
Chhedanagar began to crumble as Young Boys started to take control of the match proceedings. A strong display in the midfield helped Young Boys to increase the pressure on their counterpart as they dominated the rest of the game at Mumbai Football Arena.
Just before the half-time, Ubaid made it 3-1 with a delicate finish. He began the second-half just like he ended the first. Eight minutes into the second-half, Ubaid bagged his second of the game to increase Young Boys’ lead to three goals. Arif scored the final goal in the 59th minute to put the tie to bed and secure all three points.
