WCG Rink football: St. Anthony’s own Salvation
St Anthony’s ‘A’, Vakola posted a fluent 5-2 win against Our Lady of Salvation ‘A’, Dadar in an exciting Men’s Open third round match of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organized 31st Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2018 for the Victor D’Mello Trophy and played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts.
For the Vakola side, Ralston Miranda hit the target twice while Prathamesh Kamble, Sagar Salian and Jofa D’Souza chipped in with one each to complete the win. For Our Lady of Salvation the goals came through Priyesh Parkar and Allen Fernandes.
Meanwhile, Immaculate Conception ‘B’. Borivali scored a convincing 7-2 win against Our Lady of Fatima, Vidya Vihar, in another third round match. Strikers Randell Abranches, Dean Pereira and Calvin Pereira, all contributed with two goal apiece while Souvardhan Shetty added one to round off the winning tally. Lordston Soares netted both the goals for the losing side.
Results – Men Veterans: Vakola Veterans 1 (Neri D’Souza 1) beat Royalers, Juhu 0.
Men’s – Third round: St. Anthony’s ‘A’, Vakola 5 (Ralston Miranda 2, Prathamesh Kamble 1, Sagar Salian 1, Jofa D’Souza 1) beat Our Lady of Salvation ‘A’, Dadar 2 (Priyesh Parkar 1, Allen Fernandes 1).
Immaculate Conception ‘B’. Borivali 7 (Randell Abranches 2, Dean Pereira 2, Calvin Pereira 2, Souvardhan Shetty 1) beat Our Lady of Fatima, Vidya Vihar 2 (Lordston Soares 2).
