WCG Rink Football: Clinton shines with hat-trick

Clinton Crasto notched up a fine hat-trick to steer Holy Family ‘B’, Andheri to a comfortable 5-1 win against St. John Bosco ‘C’, Borivali in a Men’s first round match of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organized 31st Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2018 for the Victor D’Mello Trophy and played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts. Prashant Anchan played a good supporting role by scoring the other two goals to seal Holy Family’s win, while St. John Bosco reduced the margin of defeat through a goal scored by Jayesh J.

In another match, St.Anthony’s ‘A’, Vakola  struck a six to defeat Holy Cross ‘C’, Juhu 6-0. Leading St. Anthony’s charge to victory was Prathamesh Kamble who netted a brace of goals, while Ralston Miranda, Nikhil D’Souza, Ashley Fernandes and Jofa D’Souza all contributed with one each to round off the winning tally.

Results – 1st round: St.Anthony’s ‘A’, Vakola  6 (Prathamesh Kamble 2, Ralston Miranda 1, Nikhil D’Souza 1, Ashley Fernandes 1, Jofa D’Souza 1) beat Holy Cross ‘C’, Juhu 0.

Holy Family ‘B’, Andheri  5 (Clinton Crasto 3, Prashant Anchan 2) beat St. John Bosco ‘C’, Borivali 1 (Jayesh J. 1).

Our Lady of Salvation ‘A’, Dadar 7 (Wendyl Dias 4, Shannon Rodrigues 2, Allen Fernandes 1).
