Twitter goes crazy as Ronaldo helps Portugal hold Spain

by Intern June 16, 2018

Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible display ensured Portugal a point in an epic Iberian battle.

The much-awaited clash did not disappoint the fans. The World witnessed an enthralling 90minutes, where both Portugal and Spain rekindled their rivalry. It would not be wrong if someone said it was Cristiano Ronaldo vs Spain.

The Portuguese skipper performed splendidly and scored a hat-trick against a defence, that had Sergio Ramos and Gerrard Pique, two of the world’s best defenders. Elsewhere, Diego Costa bagged a brace that helped Spain twice comeback. Cristiano’s Real Madrid teammate Nacho scored a stunner for La Rojas.

Spain, after initially struggling, found the rhythm and dominated the game. Iniesta and Co. made Portugal look enervated and ran the show as if it was completely one-sided.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to this incredible, epic battle.

#CristianoRonaldo hattrick – what a high quality game! #PORESP 3-3. #ESP looked the best team so far #FifaWorldCup2018 but #Ronaldo takes shines away from #Spain with a spectacular display and a class freekick goal for #POR The match lived upto the expectation.
