Steven Dias and Vijith Shetty to scout for OSCAR SSE Elite Football Program

OSCAR SSE invites advanced U13 and U15 players from all socio-economic backgrounds for trials of Elite Football Program on 14th and 15th April 2018.
Oscar SSE are glad to announce two stalwarts of Mumbai Football as scouts for their trials.

1.    Steven Dias (Former International)

The ‘David Beckham’ of India for his free-kicks, Steven Dias’ name has been quite popular in Indian Football. The 33-year old is an attacking midfielder who plays on the wings and is known for his long-range shooting, set-pieces, crossing and passing. He is also a Certified AFC ‘A’ License coach which makes him a perfect mentor for young aspiring footballers.
He was a regular for the Indian National Team where he played an integral role in India’s win in the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup. Dias has made a total of 51 appearances for the National Team. Dias boasts of having played for some of the top clubs like Delhi Dynamos (ISL) Mahindra United, Churchill Brothers, Air India, Mumbai Tigers to name a few.
2.    Vijith Shetty (Former Maharashtra Captain)

Vijith Shetty is one of the best midfielders who has come through and is currently the captain of Air India. The long-serving midfielder has won everything which came in his way in Mumbai football. His midfield prowess earned him a call in Maharashtra’s side where he represented his state in Santosh Trophy as a Captain. In the summer of 2016, He was named as the ‘Best Midfielder’ in the inaugural MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Awards Night at Cooperage Stadium.
Vijith is also a Certified AFC ‘C’ License coach.

3.    Suhel Nair (Head of Youth Development – Oscar SSE)

A former Maharashtra state player who has played professionally for some top teams in Mumbai & Kerala. He is an AFC ‘B’ license holder and has vast coaching experience across India with various academies.
In his current role, he is the Head of Youth Development for the Oscar SSE Elite Programme and also the Head of Recruitment.

4. Oscar Alva (Head Coach – Oscar SSE U-15)

Oscar is an AFC ‘C’ license holder and also a FA Level 1 holder. Has been the Head Coach for 2nd Division I league team, Kenkre FC. Has been coaching some of the most esteemed teams in Mumbai at school and district level.

Selected players will be trained around the year at good facilities. These players will be developed under Elite Football Coaches, Nutritionists, Physiotherapists and Strength and Conditioning Coaches.

OSCAR SSE Elite – a football program which is led by OSCAR Foundation, a registered non-profit organisation and Soccer Schools of Excellence (SSE), a grassroots academy in Mumbai.
