Shabaz bags a hat-trick as Young Boys wins 3-0

2nd January 2017, Mumbai: Year’s first Super Division match took place earlier today when Young Boys met Mumbai Warriors in an anticipating encounter at the Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri. The Madanpura-based club Young Boys rode on Shabaz’s stellar hat-trick to thump Mumbai Warriors 3-0 in a one-sided affair.

After an end-to-end start, Mumbai Warriors ran out of gas within half-an-hour. Young Boys comfortably took control of the match and dominated the proceedings for the rest of the game. The Warriors had no answer in reply to Young Boys’ dominant performance.

The deadlock was broken in the 36th minute when Young Boys was awarded a penalty. Shabaz stepped up and comprehensively placed his penalty in the back of the net to open the scoring for Young Boys. Meanwhile, on the other end, Mumbai Warriors was struggling badly to threaten Young Boys’ backline which was led by experienced defender Tabrez stood firm and strong at the back.

After the break, Young Boys were awarded another penalty in the 46th minute which seemed like a soft penalty. Shabaz stepped again and brilliantly scored past goalkeeper Mani Varane to double his side lead by two goals.

Just four minutes after he grabbed his second goal of the day, Shabaz completed his hat-trick in a spectacular way. The number 7 carried the ball towards the goal and unleashed a venomous shot from 25-yards which sailed past the goalkeeper quite comprehensively. Young Boys’ dugout was left in awe after witnessing a thunderous goal.

The lack of creativity in midfield and poor defending cause Mumbai Warriors a crucial match as Young Boys registered a fantastic 3-0 victory at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri.
