Rumours: Real Madrid offer Ronaldo plus cash to sign Manchester United forward
Following Real Madrid’s Champions League victory against Liverpool, Cristiano Ronaldo hinted he might quit the Madrid-based club.
Cristiano Ronaldo has played a key role in Portugal’s progression to the Pre-Quarters of the FIFA World Cup 2018. The Portuguese skipper bagged a hat-trick against Spain and scored through a thumping header against Morocco. Despite these high-class performances, it seems like his time at Real Madrid is nearing an end, just like he had suggested following their Champions League triumph against Liverpool.
According to Diario Gol, Real Madrid are eager to sign Belgian attacker Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United. The 25-year-old attacker has been in incredible form for Belgium in the World Cup and has already scored 4 goals from two games.
However, Manchester United have put £106M as his pricing tag, but Real Madrid are planning to include Cristiano Ronaldo in this deal, to further lower the fee. Their reports suggest that Real Madrid are willing to pay €50M and sell Cristiano Ronaldo to the English behemoths, Manchester United, for signing Romelu Lukaku.
Signing Lukaku would help Real Madrid finally solve their attacking conundrums. Real Madrid attackers, in the previous season, looked clumsy in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, if they managed to sign Lukaku, they would get a goal-scoring machine. His physique also makes him a tough nut to crack for the defenders.
