Rumours: Marcelo wants Brazilian Superstar at Real Madrid
He has had an incredible season, guarding AS Roma and Brazil
Despite winning the Champions League for the third time in a row, aplenty questions have arisen over the Real Madrid’s depth and consistency. Under the tutelage of Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid might have won the biggest competition in European club football, but their performances in the domestic leagues were nothing less than slapdash.
The team, in the absence of their Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, struggled to find the back of the net. However, President Florentino Perez and newly-appointed coach Julen Lopetegui are determined to overhaul their squad ahead of the next season.
The team have already targetted many players and are optimistic that they would lure their services. And if reports from European media’s are to believed, Marcelo wants and is pushing Real Madrid to sign his fellow Brazilian teammate, Alisson, who had an impressive stint with AS Roma in the recently concluded season.
He displayed fulgurant performances and played a key part in AS Roma’s sojourn to the UEFA Champions League semi-final, where they were outsmarted by Liverpool.
The same report also suggests that Real Madrid have already tabled an offer for Alisson and the fee is reportedly close to €65M.
Florentino Perez is not really impressed with Keylor Navas’ performance and reports suggest he wants to offload him. Signing Alisson, who has the potential become the best goalkeeper, would end Real Madrid’s woes regarding their shot-stopper, as Navas committed numerous unwanted flaws for them in the league.
